I can’t deny that the video quality they demonstrate is amazing but at this price you could buy an entire (used) computer with wifi, buy a (used) nightvision camcorder and all the equipment to hook them together. I’m not sure who out there is spending $300 for a camera but that’s far too much money for what this provides when competitors are 1/3rd the price.

I’m also a little leery of a product that only exists on Amazon with near perfect reviews and only one seller. No reviews exist anywhere else on the web and it can’t be purchased anywhere else. Are these reviews real? Who is this company? Are their products good? How is their support? Will they be around in a year if I need help?

I received this product today about 5 hours ago. I have read the manual and attempted to follow it to a T. I have had to reset the item twice because when I followed the instructions the item became invisible to my computer. For 300 dollars this product should have been very simple. Instead I find out the only way to contact support is through email. The only way to look onto this product from another computer or a cell phone is by signing up with a website and hope you get a free IP address. I am extremely frustrated with this and realize that this is a waste of time and money.

I love this camera. It does everything that was advertised. It was fairly easy to setup, but I did have a couple questions along the way, mostly due to my router being very old. I went online to the Sharx website, filled out their contact form, and was contacted via email (my preferred method) right away. Their help was wonderful. Clear, simple, polite, precise. I wish I could think of more adjectives. I will buy from them exclusively in the future. I have never had a more pleasant experience with tech support on any product at any time.

From a technical point of view the camera is so-so, the part I was unhappy the most is the support: on the manufacturer website you won’t find any “support” section with FAQs, help or documentation. The only thing you can do is to send an inquiry from a very simplistic web form and wait to be called back, during the work days and when they are not in the filed, at a customer site. Which does not work well when you are in a different time zone. In the end, the support engineers will give some generic answers and will offer to connect remotely and configure the camera for you, black magic, without you knowing what happened.

Back to the technical side: the image quality is OK (not great), the camera works OK with Firefox, lacking only a few additional and little useful features present only in Internet Explorer. A problem for me was the camera work in wireless mode only then the LAN cable is disconnected, so you have to make the initial settings with a LAN connection and hope for the best when switching to wireless.
